Boot Camp Graduation

November 15, 2013 was Brian's big day! He graduated from Bootcamp!!! I am so incredibly proud of him. For 8 weeks we got 4 phone calls but wrote tons of letters to each other. I felt like it was very romantic but I will be honest it was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. And I am sure he felt the same way!

I flew in to Minneapolis where Brian's parents were waiting for me and we headed off to Great Lakes. We spent 2 days exploring and to a meeting to find out what to expect when we saw Brian the next day. I don't think I slept much the night before and we had to be up and out the door at 6 AM!!! It was so we could find a good seat! When I saw Brian marching in for the first time I got the biggest smile on my face! He wasn't supposed to but I saw a small grin on his face when he saw me.

He looked so handsome in his uniform! It was so hard to go the whole graduation ceremony which was over an hour long without giving him a HUGE hug! But the wait was finally worth it. When they announced liberty I took off running and gave him the biggest hug!

It was so nice to see him again! I missed him so much! After we picked him up he wanted to go to the hotel and take a nice hot long shower. In bootcamp they have to share the shower with about 80 other guys and they are not always warm! His parents and I decorated the hotel room door for him when he got there!

After he took his shower we went to lunch and to hang out at the mall. I remember feeling so proud that I was able to be on his arm in his uniform! I am so proud of him and all he does!

We had fun playing in the photo booth and in a small sporting goods store in the mall. I didn't care what we were doing I was just so excited to be spending time with him. Later that night we went to the base and had dinner with him and went to a small navy exchange to look at shirts and souvenirs. Then we had to drop him off and leave him so he could get his things together and spend one last night in bootcamp. Here he is when we dropped him off.

I cried so hard I did not want to leave him there. The next morning we got up really early to go meet him at the airport while he waited for his flight to Pensacola, Florida where he would do his A school. We hung out at the airport for almost 8 hours but it was so nice to just spend time with him and meet some of the sailors he went to bootcamp with.

Once again we said see you later for another 5 weeks! On this trip we also got to set our wedding date, for December 22, 2013.
