Boot Camp Graduation

November 15, 2013 was Brian's big day! He graduated from Bootcamp!!! I am so incredibly proud of him. For 8 weeks we got 4 phone calls but wrote tons of letters to each other. I felt like it was very romantic but I will be honest it was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. And I am sure he felt the same way!

I flew in to Minneapolis where Brian's parents were waiting for me and we headed off to Great Lakes. We spent 2 days exploring and to a meeting to find out what to expect when we saw Brian the next day. I don't think I slept much the night before and we had to be up and out the door at 6 AM!!! It was so we could find a good seat! When I saw Brian marching in for the first time I got the biggest smile on my face! He wasn't supposed to but I saw a small grin on his face when he saw me.

He looked so handsome in his uniform! It was so hard to go the whole graduation ceremony which was over an hour long without giving him a HUGE hug! But the wait was finally worth it. When they announced liberty I took off running and gave him the biggest hug!

It was so nice to see him again! I missed him so much! After we picked him up he wanted to go to the hotel and take a nice hot long shower. In bootcamp they have to share the shower with about 80 other guys and they are not always warm! His parents and I decorated the hotel room door for him when he got there!

After he took his shower we went to lunch and to hang out at the mall. I remember feeling so proud that I was able to be on his arm in his uniform! I am so proud of him and all he does!

We had fun playing in the photo booth and in a small sporting goods store in the mall. I didn't care what we were doing I was just so excited to be spending time with him. Later that night we went to the base and had dinner with him and went to a small navy exchange to look at shirts and souvenirs. Then we had to drop him off and leave him so he could get his things together and spend one last night in bootcamp. Here he is when we dropped him off.

I cried so hard I did not want to leave him there. The next morning we got up really early to go meet him at the airport while he waited for his flight to Pensacola, Florida where he would do his A school. We hung out at the airport for almost 8 hours but it was so nice to just spend time with him and meet some of the sailors he went to bootcamp with.

Once again we said see you later for another 5 weeks! On this trip we also got to set our wedding date, for December 22, 2013.

Catch Up

So I totally could not be a professional blogger because I never update this thing but I will play catch up from what has happened the past few months. But I will be getting better so you all can see our exciting adventures we are about to embark on.

We bought our first car together. It is a 2013 Honda Civic and it is awesome!

On September 16, 2013 Brian left for bootcamp and got sworn into the Navy!

Here are a few pictures of us before Brian left.

After Brian left my mom, katelynn, and Grandma Julie came and got me and took me and whiskey back to Idaho to live to wait for Brian to finish Navy stuff.

My Favorite new sweatshirt I got while Brian was gone.

Got my wedding dress!!!

My cousin Michelle moved to Idaho! I love her so much and I am so happy she is here with me.

Whiskey had to get a coat to wear in the cold Idaho weather.

ENGAGED!

On August 4,2013 Brian popped the question! I was so surprised and so happy! I love that guy so much and honestly that day was one of the best days of my life. Here is the story.

We woke up like any other Sunday and Brian made me breakfast in bed. Whiskey had a vet appointment later that day so we got up and got ready to go. Brian suggested we get a chicken lunch and go to the park for a picnic after the appointment. We had an awesome picnic, Then he said we should hike these falls that i suggested we hike a few days before.

We hike and hike about 1.5 miles. We stopped at some of the lower falls to rest and look (there was a lower, middle, and upper falls.)

So it was time to leave and I wanted to take one last picture. I turned to take this picture of the upper falls and Brian says "HEY BABE" I turn around and he is on one knee. I remember him saying something like I already know what you are going to say but will you marry me. I was surprised and got really emotional but I of course said yes and can;t wait to marry the love of my life and best friend.

Family Visits Cali Part 2

On the second half of our trip we left Redding and decided to drive to the coast (Eureka, CA) and San Francisco.

We didn't take any pictures in eureka but we went to the mall there and got some dinner and spent the night. If you ever have been to eureka you will know that it is not the most interesting place ever. Anyway on our way to San Francisco we made a drive thru the big red wood trees. I think it was called land of the giant trees.

we were looking at how big they are

The jetta in the drive thru tree

We then went to san Francisco and saw the Golden Gate Bridge! It is one of my favorite things in the whole world!

Katelynn Has only been to the ocean one other time when she was 3 so she really wanted to take a picture by the ocean. She also wanted to play in the water even though it was about 50 degrees and windy. But she did it anyway.

Then we went to Fisherman's Warf to walk around, shop and get dinner. We went to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner and it was really Yummy!!!

I was so sad to see these ladies leave but I was so happy they came to see me and see where I live. It was really fun and exciting.

WHISKEY!

So I know I need to finish my family visits California part 2 but we had a very exciting thing happen to us about a week ago. We adopted a puppy and named him Whiskey!

Whiskey in my opinion is the cutest little dog ever. He is 2.1 pounds and about 7 weeks old but don't let him fool you he is really tough!

He loves to cuddle and be all wrapped up! He definitely shows his puppy side and sleeps a lot

This was the other day he decided to make my keys his play toy.

This is our cute little family. Whiskey is cuddled up and sleeping like normal he loves to cuddle into me or Brian's neck and sleep!

We are so excited we made the decision to adopt our puppy! He will be moving with me to Idaho in just a few weeks while Brian goes to boot camp and after that he will be a little navy puppy!
